My new blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.

Thanks elija.
I downloaded the DSL-N and the default kernel is 2.6.12. Now i am trying to upgrade the kernel to 2.6.19.3. I have downloaded the 2.6.19.3 source also. Bu frugal install method, installed DSL-N into my harddisk. When i started for kernel upgrdation, saying no Make command found message and no GCC also found. I started using apt-get install method for installing the above packages. There alos getting problem. Now i dont know how to proceed to installing packages and kernel upgradation.
Can anyone help me

Package install in DSL-N for kernel upgrade
I downloaded the dsl-dpkg.dsl package and using myDsl, installed into my SATA HDD. Now the problem is adding packages. When i tried for apt-get <tab>, it listed so many packages and in that i found gcc and make which i need for kernel upgradation. When i tried with "apt-get install kcalc" saying error as,
E:Unable to write to /var/cache/apt
E:The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.
When i tried for "dpkg -i make_3.81-2_i386.deb" saying error as,
dpkg:install-info not found on PATH
dpkg:expected programs not found on PATH
NB:root's PATH should usually contain /usr/local/sbin, usr/sbin and /sbin
Can anyone help me install gcc and make packages.
