    Cancelling a command?

I was wondering if there is a way to cancel a command given. For example, I was adding a new user v73 and then it will ask me about the password and other stuff. Then, in the half way, I want to cancel and make a new user id. Instead of click on the close button, is there a universal command that can cancel out the past doing? So as not to continue it. I am still a newbie, hope the pros can help me out in case I did something wrong and I need to get out of it. Thanks!!

You can press Ctrl+C to abort any command execution but consequences depends on command in question.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

Just as devils_casper says, there my be consequences, but if it's only a mistake in adding a user, wouldn't it just be easier to finish out the process and then remove the user?

I see, so there are consequences depending on the question? That sounds risky with the ctrl+c is this the only other option?

Haha...about the adding user example, it is just an example I thought of. As you know, I am still a newbie, don't know what else I might make a mistake of so on the safe side. Something to cancel a command might come in handy for me.
