how would i go about setting up this router to work with linux.
i tried the 192.168.1.1 ip address but it will not let me into the setup with out a user name and pass wrd admin does not work so pleas dont suggest it. i am not sure how to go about changing the Vxworks so if any one could describe it in layman's terms that would help me out a lot. this is also my first router config so any help to make it easy as possible is welcome as well
thankyou for you time in advance i am sure this is a pain to hear another router request. it was an impetuous buy i may just swap it out to save myself the head ache

Replacing the router is not figuring it out.

If you cannot use the default setting then why not reset the router to the factory defaults?
Instructions for this can be found on the Linksys site.
