    Unhappy Stucked & Hanged With Fedora 8 Installation

    Hey all, m new to linux hut. But wish to learn and work for linux community. But for tat i have to install it and learn the os. The rest techs i know.

    I have downloaded a Fedora 8 dvd (not live dvd) for i386. and burned it on dvd with power iso.
    I install it and after a lots of loads its gets install along with windows xp, vista as other boot option. But as the fedora starts for the first time ...it just gets hanged up and the keyboard dont seems to work nor mouse.

    here is detials of my pc.

    I have two hard disk. i used the 80 gb hard disk to install os.

    primary partition C : - Windows xp sp2 already installed then i did installed.....
    second partition D: - Windows Vista Ultimate which took over the boot menu to vista and old windows op system
    third partition E : which i partitioned to (/ ext3 10 gb + for the sys files of fedora)
    (/home ext3 12 gb for other stuffs to store) (/swap almost 800+ mb donoo for wat ?)

    but still its stucks somewhere when starting...or while loading the Hal DEamon or udev. and takes lots of time to get the ipconfig for internet.




    Please please do help i really need to start working and udnerstanding linux. REally anxious to switch to it. Wish the newbiee is welcomed to the linux community.

    Hi and Welcome !

    Its a Graphics Card problem only. Boot up Single User Mode and execute this
    Code:
    system-config-display --reconfig
    Configure display settings and reboot machine.
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

    just to confirm myself...
    U want me to boot through grubloader and go to kernel command line and
    execute the following code and reboot to linux and all will be fine. ???? plz do confirm !!

    Yes. GRUB Menu appears at startup having a list of all installed OSes. Just highlight Fedora title and follow instructions to reconfigure display.
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
