Driver hpijs.ppd
I have downloaded 'HP-Photosmart_2570-hpijs.ppd'; via OpenPrinting - The Linux Foundation, The icon is now sitting on my desktop with the other icon,'HP Photosmart 2575'. Not having installed anything like this before, what is my next move. I feel sure that once these are installed properly my printer will come to life. Can someone help please. My os at the moment is Fedora core 5.
Thank you
JTH

Do you have CUPS installed? What about hpoj? Check the Fedora repos, I'm sure they are both there. Install them and tell us how far you get.

If you have the right driver for your printer and CUPS is installed properly, you should be able to simply move that file to the /usr/share/cups/model directory, then restart CUPS for the driver to be detected.
Let us know if you need help with the cp (copy) or mv (move) command.oz
