    I have Kanotix on my external HD, and the BIOS does not support booting from USB. Is there a solution to this?

    Welcome to the forums!

    Check for a BIOS update at your motherboard maker's website. If none available you might be able to use a floppy disk to boot.

    Maybe some of the others will have additional suggestions.
