    Encoding dumped iso using mplayer

    Hi,
I have a 5.5 Gb ISO that I have mounted. Now, I want to take just the files that I want and encode them into avi, to save space. can I do it using mplayer or anything else.

Another question is, how can I play the mounted iso image in mplayer so that i can see the subtitle also? In dvd format there are no separate file for subtitles as srt or sub, am I right?

    hi there, imranka!

is your iso image an image of a dvd? then you should be able to use
dvd::rip which lets you do all of
    the things you mentioned.

mplayer has a bunch of option to display subtitles, you can read up on
them in the mplayer manual page (man mplayer).

    cheers, kai
