Hi All,
I'm running a laptop and just purchased a monitor for it (tired of looking at the monitor so closely....plus wanted some HD stuff
) but my issue is that every time I reboot I have to manually go into nvidia-settings and turn off my laptop monitor, and turn on my new monitor. Is there a way to make it so "if" the external monitor is connected it automatically is set up to have the laptop monitor turn off and the external monitor run? I don't want to have the laptop monitor on when it's plugged in (waste of electricity). Even when I log out it auto "de-syncs" with the external monitor and my laptop monitor turns on, I have to boot in using that monitor (hassle as it is placed underneath my desk) and then manually set up the external again....another issue is that my external monitor is set to 1680 X 1050 while my laptop is at a higher resolution, so when I manually go through (ie doesn't set up on boot) a few things screw up a little (such as my conky which is off screen). I think that if it automatically starts up the monitor everything will adjust to my native resolution of the external monitor. Thanks all
Here is my xorg file:
