Hi Im A bit stuck on a USB version of BT3 i have had it running on diffrent ocmputers but when i try mine it wont start it gets halfway through booting to this : serial: 8250/16550 driver $ revison: 1.90 $ 4 ports IRQ Sharing Enabled. Thats as far it gets then have to restart . im running pc linux os with out any troubles .
Its a Presario F500
Nivida Based Graphics
any help would be great

Hi and Welcome !
It looks like Graphics Card problem. Have you tried to install in Text Mode?It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

Have tried alll diffrent start modes its on a usb stick i was looking for away to install the xorg nv drivers but not to sure how to go about installing them on usb stick

Does it throw any error message. Is installer restarting machine itself?
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

nothhing at all just seems to got to balck screen then when i push the power button it comes up with the load screen were it crsahes and thats it no restarting by itself or anything

Press Alt+Ctrl+F1. Does it drop you at text mode and display any error message?

getting one stage further getting this now :clocksource TSC unstable delta 147668193. that was under txt mode still having to push power button to get some action lol

hey sorry, might be a bit late but i had same problem i have the same setup as you compaq presario f500 very annoying when using it with linux!! anyway i had same problem as you with bt3 ... At the boot menu...
hit "tab" and then hit "space" and then type acpi=off
then boot in text mode and login as root with password toor
then type startx should boot into bt3 no prob
sorry if im a bit late but might help someone else out

Hi, and welcome to Linux Forums!

Backtrack is for Linux system administrators, and not a good distro for new users. Try something like Ubuntu to learn how to use Linux.
