    [SOLVED] The best distro?

Although I've had Fedora 8 on my computer for almost a month, it just is not working out for me. My question is this: Which distro is the most customizable/flexible, yet is easy enough for a beginner to learn how to use? I need to try something different.

To be honest, the 'Which one is best' thing is up for debate. Everybody here will tell you something different. Personally, I like Fedora. But this thread should start you with some good information if your looking to switch to a new flavor. This poll should help as well.

    P.S.

Lots o' folks like Ubuntu for being user friendly, but that's really for you to decide, too.

Thanks Jayd. I took that test and it pointed me in the direction of Ubuntu/Kubuntu. But one thing that really wasn't addressed was the issue of "customizing". I know Fedora was probably the most flexible in this area. But how versitile is Kubuntu for changing desktop appearance? (adding icons, changing the splash screen, "K" menu bar, etc.). In other words, is Kubuntu highly customizable? I won't be a newbie forever.

Kubuntu has K Desktop Environment and its more customizable than Gnome imho. Check kde-look.org.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

As jayd512 said, "Everybody here will tell you something different.". I am using Fedora 8 with Gnome, Compiz and Emerald Window Manager. It looks amazing. I was just wondering what is not working out for you? Without knowing this there is no way of anyone giving you usefull advice on another dist.
