LinuxOS 2007 Live CD Won't Boot

    Greetings,
I am a new potential user to Linux and am in the investigative stage. I am using a Dell Dimension C521 and have downloaded the LinuxOS 2007 Live CD. I copied the files to a CD and the computer recognizes the file "Linuxos-2007.iso as being on the CD. I have my Bios set to boot from CD first and then HDD. When I boot the machine it pauses for a moment at the CD prompt and then goes into a normal HDD boot of Windows XP Pro. I tried the same procedure on an Acer Aspire 3000 Laptop with the same results.

I would prefer to play around with Linux for a while prior to determining if I want to make a switch, thus the choice to work from a live CD.

    Thanks in advance,
    Chitreano

That's your problem: you didn't burn the ISO properly. An ISO is a disc image, and must be burned onto a CD as such. Here's a tutorial on that:

    Hi, Chitreano!

I would follow the link that techieMoe provided, and I don't know what program you're using to burn your ISO's, but I've been using Alex Feinman's Power Toy for a while. Works great!
