    Screen Size issue

    Hi all ,

    I had a 22inch flat screen which is dead now,and i had to revert back to my old 15 inch dell TFT lcd one problem is linux has retained the old screen size changing the resolutions does'nt help it still stays big, can anyone help please??

    What distro are you using? and what methods have you already tried to change screen resolution?

    I assume you speak about the desktop environment. If that's the case, paste your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file in pastebin.com and post a link to it here, so we can review it and see what's wrong.

    i am using CentOS 4 (2.6.9.34ELSMP kernel)

    Cant get the whole conf file pasted because the linux box is'nt connected to the internet which i am trying to do but have to get the monitor issue sorted because its doing my head in, if you like i can type in the part which you would be interested in ..
