    Hi, I'm using Compaq Presario AMD Turion 64 X2 laptop and wanna run linux on it. What is the best Linux should I choose which is can run run on my laptop. Thanks!

    Without knowing more details on your hardware it's hard to give any recommendations. First I would recommend you read our introductory thread, specifically the "Which Distro?" section:

    Your AMD64 x2 will run either a 32-bit or a 64-bit operating system. You have a choice there. In general I discourage folks from using the 64-bit version right now because it isn't quite as well tested as 32-bit. When you're looking for distributions to download, the 32-bit versions will be called i386, i486, i586, i686, or just plain X86. The 64-bit versions will be called X86_64.
