installing wine and working with rar
Hi all, Im a total noob here joined yesterday and installed ubuntu 7, I have the system running well but I cant find how to install wine as I need to run adobe photoshop and dreamweaver also I download a lot of avi files but they are zipped in rar which I dont seem to be able to open, I have been reading the forums( or trying to) but the closest I get is to read I need wine for dreamweaver so I gather it's the same for all windows progs and I found nothing about rar. so can some one please help or point me in the direction of a post which explains my queries, any recommendations would be appreciated as linux seems to be a good and reliable platform which I would prefer to keep over vista.
Thanks

forgot to add
Hi I forgot to add when I try and run a printer test page i get the message CUPS server error
There was an error during the CUPS operation: 'client-error-document-format-not-supported'.
I get the same message for both printers they are CANON MP600 AND CANON LBP3000 so how do i fix the error
thanks

I have no idea about your CUPS problem (I don't print) but I can direct you with WINE and RAR files. To unarchive an RAR file you should be able to just open a terminal and type:
Obviously, replace "nameOfYourArchive" before you run it. For WINE, there's instructions on the WINE website here:Code:unrar nameOfYourArchive.rar

I don't print anything either... but I ran across a CUPS How-To that may be of some help.
