Crashed HDD
Hi all, My computer is a HP omnibook 500 and it doesn't have a floppy or CD ROM.(Actually the dock doesn't work) So I tried installing via the internet starting with Instlux. Everything went well initially but after downloading 70MB it said that it needs a swap partition. When I made a linux and swap partition on my 30GB NTFS HDD now the message comes as Partition table not valid. I can remove my HDD. What can I do?

Hi and Welcome !
If you can remove Hard Disk then why dont you plugin it in other machine having CD Drive? Just install any Linux Distro in Hard Disk and plug-in it back HP omnibook. You might face Display problem but thats pretty easy to fix.
Which Linux distro are you trying to install? Post omnibook's specs here.It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

Thank you
Hi, Thanks for the reply. It might be some time before I can borrow a computer Where I can plug it in. I was thinking whether I can fix it to a Sata USB adapter and install Linux into it. What do you think? Will it work?
