Distro for my computer
I have a few more questions. MY computer has 256mb RAM and 14 gigs memory. What Linux distro should I use? It's going to be a download, not a live CD/DVD version.

You should be OK with Xubuntu with these specs.
Distribution: Archlinux
Processor: 3 x Amd 64 bit
Ram: 4 GB
Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT

ok, thanks. I was leaning on openSUSe, but Xubuntu seems like it will run a lot smoother on my computer.

OpenSuse wouldn't be a good idea! That's the Linux distro that requires the most system ressources out there!

You should also be able to run the normal ubuntu with those specs. I have done it with no problems. PCLinuxOS and SimplyMepis would also be good choices for a beginner linux user. If you already have windows installed, consider unetbootin for doing a net-installation:
Lubi, LVPM, UNetbootin, and Bubakup - UNetbootin
