    sata, ide, scsi?

    Greetings all. I am going to buy another hard drive and I was hoping someone could tell me how to tell which cable system I have: sata, ide, scsi?

    Three ways I can think of right away with varying levels of difficulty...

    1) Open the case and look.

    2) Look up your motherboard on the manufacturer's website and read the specs.

    3) Do an lspci - depending on what it shows for the north/south bridge chipsets, you can make an educated guess.

    * Hint, #1 is the easiest...

    Edit: I *doubt* you have SCSI, so...
