How do I disable a linux 'global' command?

No matter where I type 'eggdrop', it tries runs my eggdrop executable. Not only do I not know which one it's running, but then I can't force it to read a certain config, and it's screwing everything up. How do I disbale that, or at least find out what binary it's pointing to?

"whereis eggdrop" should be useful to you. But, remeber that you run a binary by ./eggdrop -useful -flags etc
