    one last thing then ill be done for this week. is there any tool usable on SuSE to like cut my hdd in half with the other part being made for xp cause id like to use the system restore tool from xp to install it back on

    I second that ... and it is probably worth creating the free space for MS to install to at the beginning of the hard drive. While your burning CDs get a copy of SuperGrub as well ... it will make the job of restoring grub after the Windows install easier.

    ok shame i gota waste 4.7gb disk for 40mb

    Buy some blank cds or if you can boot from USB you can play with that to get a USB version. The CD option is probably easier & should work on any machine with a CD drive.

    If you have an Ubuntu, Mint or similar live CD with gparted on it you can use that. You can actually use any live CD with parted on but gparted is an easy to use GUI.

    If you only have one CD then I'd use it to get a copy of PartedMagic, the SuperGrub CD is useful but you can restore Grub using the install media.
