    Hello guys!
I've joined the group and i have one question!
Till now i only had windows on my pc but i am a bit sick of it and i' d like to try linux!
I have an old pc PII 300MHz with 92MB Ram and 64 graphic card and i don' t know what kind of linux to put on!
if anyone can help me! i have tried DSL-N but when it comes to the point to upload to to pc it turns black screen!!!
I ran Linuxos 2007 and ran live but i couldn' t do anything because it had no memory left.
    Any suggestions acceptable!

    Welcome to the forums, kakody1!

Check the link in my signature for lots of good information on getting started with Linux. You can check the following link for suggestions for older/weaker computer hardware:

I think many of the liveCDs will require more RAM, but do let us know what you go with and how it goes.

As far as DSL is concerned, it is possible to install it on your machine - trust me! I managed it on a P1 with only 32mb RAM, but it was haaaard. The problem is that you don't have enough RAM to do it easily. Now, I don't remember exactly what I did, but there's an option for installing on very low powered computers (frugal install). Here's a useful link for you on how to do a frugal install.

If you only have 92Mb RAM try Puppy Linux or a derivative such as MeanPup. More derivatives can be found here.

To be honest, I don't think Puppy Linux is any better than DSL on these sorts of machines. Indeed, I couldn't install Puppy on my P1 laptop at all, in fact I could only just get the live disk up and running; I found that DSL worked much better. Still, the machine in question is quite a lot more powerful than the one I'm talking about, so Puppy would probably work better on it.

DSL-N ran on the pc quite ok on live mode unexpectedly!
It was connected to Internet via router (I don' t exactly know what i did, by searching!)
When i tried to load it on the HD i couldn' t do it but most likely is that i didn' t had the HD ready for it. I don' t know many thing about pc' s and i have problem even at setting up BIOS!!!

How far have you got on this? Have you worked out partitioning? Do you want a dual-boot Windows/DSL or do you want to just have Linux?

I think that's your problem right there. The graphics card. What kind is it?
Can't tell an OS by it's GUI
