I have a motorola phone razr2 V8, with MobiLinux 4.1 as OS, I can access some of the system files on that phone, but unlikely some of these files are "ready only System File", so i can't edit them, i tried using chmod but gives the same message "Read Only System File".... so all i am asking about how to edit these files??

Right. Now I understand.
Unfortunately, I am not familiar with mobilinux. I know it's based on linux, but I don't know to what degree it diverges from the official 2.6 kernel. I guess it's heavily patched.
I guess that you don't operate by default as root, so, the first thing would be to figure how to log in as root, which should have god-like powers. But logging as root might be disabled, just like in Ubuntu. I don't know what software subset can you use in mobilinux. Maybe sudo is available?
Sorry, but I really know nothing specific to this OS.

It seems that montavista is the enterprise in charge of mobilinux. In their home there are some docs. I haven't checked anything, maybe it's worth a look, I don't know.
