Hello tenishq4u,
Linux also has a directory for each individual user. It is called the "Home" directory. When you are logged in you can simply go to "Home" which serves as the equivalent of "My Documents" in Windows.
Hope this helps.

In Linux, every user has his own Desktop, home and personal settings. Users have full access in there Home folder only but they can read files of other users unless restricted to do so.
Check Linux FileSystem here.It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

There are four main ones: /bin for the most essential user commands, /sbin for the most essential housekeeping commands, and /usr/bin and /usr/sbin for the less essential ones.
It depends on your distro. In Red Hat you would use rpm. You probably have a graphical front end to this program; look in your desktop menus. In windows to un-install or repair installed prograrms we will go to add r remove windows components where is that function in linux? thanx in advance"I'm just a little old lady; don't try to dazzle me with jargon!"
