    hi,

i think your friend will be the Live CD here.

when you were trying the Live CD what error did you get? and what Live CD did you try to use.

if you can boot with a Live CD then execute the following command and post the output
    Code:
    /sbin/fdisk -l
    (its a small L after -)
Linux and me it's a love story

    Hi and Welcome !

Boot up from from SuperGRUB CD and select Fix Linux Boot Loader (GRUB) option. It will re-install GRUB.

In case it doesn't work, try to remove GRUB by selecting 'Fix Windows Boot Loader' option.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

The easiest way I found to get out of a panic situation like this was to boot off you XP cd, go into the repair console and type in FIXMBR.
The you should have the windows default boot loader so you can get to your project (if its under the windows partition)
Then you can just try fixing grub when ever you have backed up your project. You nay want to just re install linux.
