Need Linux Live 210-Meg CD with Command Line only
I want a version of Linux that will boot and run entirely from a 210-Meg CD. I want command line options only, in other words, boot directly to a command prompt.
I know nothing about Linux or scripting at this point so it would be nice if I could find a ready-to-use ISO to download.
Thanks for your help.

Slax Frodo
Minimax
Those are the first two that come to mind.

Thanks, I'm downloading Slax Frodo as I write this; but, all the links I Googled up for MiniMax go to a page that says "this page does not exist yet" or to pages that write about it but have no download links.
Something that would fit onto a business card (50-Meg) cd wiould be convenient. They say MiniMax is only 32 Megs but appears to be vaporware.
Thanks again for Slax Frodo.

Yeah, I don't think minimax is developed any longer. It was a great little distro to play with while it lasted, though.

I like these:
http://ftp.leg.uct.ac.za/pub/linux/rip/
Main Page - SystemRescueCd
Both are very valuable tools for repairing and diagnosing purposes, for both, windows and linux. They are under that mark of 210 mb, and they both are heavily maintained as far as I know.

You could use DSL and just type
for text mode. Not sure how performance will compare with other suggestions - but the one CD or USB stick will give you X as well if you decide you need it for something.Code:dsl 2

I tried DSL here on two of my systems and the screen vibrates and the mouse jumps all over continuously whether I'm attempting any keypresses or mouse movements or not.
Totally impossible to use.

I would have thought DSL would fit the bill running in text mode ... even if X is having a hard time with your hardware.
You may already have come across this.
