Getting and installing latest version of software

I went to Synaptic to look for and install the latest version of the Opera web browser. The version listed was 9.27 and the latest version is 9.50. Is there a way to make Synaptic look for and install the latest version? If not how could i download and install the latest version without using Synaptic. I am running PCLinuxOS. Thanks

Go to Download Opera Web Browser for Linux and select other/static RPM(PCLinux OS is RPM based). then run in terminal:
    rpm -i name_of_package
