    I need help choosing the one for me.

    I need a distro thats just works. i want to learn linux its so much faster than windows and everything. im a DJ on a website and i need a distro that can use Wine good and stable so i can play World of warcraft and Spore Creature Creator and use Winamp pro and Shoutcast. thats the main things i do on a daily basis. my birthday is tomorrow and what i could wish for is a working fast sleek Operating system.

    Which would be the most stable and good? (i hate ubuntu and open suse)

    What else can one say except Ubuntu if you are a new user. Request (free) shipit.ubuntu.com; Install it; do: sudo apt-get install wine.

    Mandriva, OpenSuse, and Ubuntu are all considered good options for new users. Hope you have lots of fun with whatever you should choose.

    Since you are a DJ, you need a distribution that specialises in Multimedia. So check out this distributions: DistroWatch.com: Put the fun back into computing. Use Linux, BSD.
    They come with tons of free or open source programs for multimedia so you can have your own studio up and running in no time!
