    Question Need A Little Help...

    OK finally managed to get ubuntu installed. Had to add an extra drive as found out it wouldn't install on my 'fake' RAID0 array.

    So anyway it installed fine on my extra disk, however I now don't get a boot menu to choose which OS to boot. It just boots straight to Vista which is still on the original RAID0 array.

    Any idea how to fix this? (Sorry if its really easy but I am learning)!

    The bootloader must be on the other drive. Start the pc and enter into the bios. It should have something like boot configuration, boot menu or hard disk priority. Put the disk with Linux first and at next menu you will see Grub (Linux bootloader)

    Tried that but just doesn't boot at all. When I installed ubuntu I chose to install the boot loader onto the primary drive (Vista RAID0 array) I'm guessing it hasn't installed properly because of the RAID.

    Can I modify the vista boot loader to see the Linux install on the other disk?

    You might want to look into a way to disable the RAID on your Vista install, then GRUB should look at your Ubuntu partition.

    Need to keep the RAID on my Vista install that's why I got a completely separate disk for ubuntu.

    I know I read somewhere about using the Vista boot manager to select Vista/Ubuntu but cant remember the site.

    EDIT: Found the link: How to dual-boot Vista with Linux (Vista installed first) -- the step-by-step guide with screenshots

    It involves using EasyBCD, although this would require me to be able to boot into Linux in the first place which I currently can't. How can I reinstall GRUB on the separate Linux drive so I can at least boot into it through the BIOS?
