Won't boot with Jumpdrive inserted
I dual-boot with Linux Mint and XP. With me being the Newbie I am, have had to "wipe the slate clean" several times. Since I've started it hasn't wanted to boot with Jumpdrive inserted. If I insert it right after "Grub Loading" it will boot and usually be mounted, otherwise it stops right before that with cursor blinking in top left corner. Any ideas?
Thanks

When you had Windows only would the system boot with the jump drive plugged in?

What I meant was that before you installed Linux on your computer (the one with Mint and XP), did the system boot fine from the jump drive? The reason I ask is because I have a couple of computers that won't finish booting if you plugin a flash drive. The problem seems to be BIOS related rather than being a Linux problem.

As lazy as I am the jumpdrive stayed in almost 100% .
Yes I'm sure it booted before.

Hats Off To The daark.child
I went into the bios set-up advanced
and found "USB Legacy Mode Support". It was set to "Auto" I changed it to "Disabled". Drive was in at boot and booted up with just 1 small problem. Something was running as I walked back into the room something was counting down then about it writing to my fstab file. My Ext 500G HD isn't recognized anymore.
Might be able to put the back-up in that I had saved.
Thanks - You Da Man
