    root configuration is not working correctly

    when i login as a normal user all commands are working correctly ,but when i logged in as root no commands works ,also i am not seeing the usual desktop
    i see when i login as a normal user,can any one suggest how to revert it back .

    Never heard about your case before....

    Hmmmm.... maybe your installation failed???

    Which Linux distribution are you using? What happens exactly when you login as root user?
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

    Some distro's don't allow the root to use the Graphical User Interface (as technically, root isn't a user).

    In addition to what devils casper asked, I'd like to ask what happens if you log in as user, open up a termnal and su to root?? Does that work?
    Can't tell an OS by it's GUI

    yes when i log in as normal user su works,i have fedora 7,nothing working as root
