Moving system from intranet to home

I will be moving my Linux based computer from my work where it is on the company intranet, to my home. It has its own subdomain at work which wont work at home. What do I need to do to make sure everything is set up properly and the computer is secure.

If you really mean "to be sure", do a fresh reinstall.
You never know who else was using this machine. This does not mean this person had to be malicious, just that she may have been careless.

If you don't want to be that sure, you should check the netstat which ports are listened on and 'top' for which processes are running.
But this is a meaningless thing if the machine has already been compromised.
