When I view env|less its not listed; but when I specify MyVar it shows me ...

Not a problem but a question.
Where is the var I put in the .bashrc?
When I view env|less its not listed; but when I specify MyVar it shows me the value stored. So it works. But shouldn't it be in the env output?
