HP Mini-Note 2133: Which distro would you recommend?

I just recently received my mininote and it didn't take long to realize SLED 10 is insufficient. I'm an amatuer web developer (PHP, Javascript, AJAX) and I'm looking for a distro that will not bog down the system (1.2GHz VIA, 120HDD 5400RPM, 1GB RAM), yet is attractive and feature rich.

I also require a development environment (Syntax highlighting and FTP Client).

    Thanks for the help.

    Hi and Welcome !

You can install most of latest desktop distros in your machine. I would suggest you to try LiveCDs first. Performance of LiveCD will not be as good as Harddisk installed distros but you will have an idea of Hardware detection, default interface and pre-installed packages.
You can install any package in any distro.
Check this poll and check the link in my signature too.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

Thanks, I decided on openSUSE 11 after trying out the LiveCD. It has a handy little "Install" option so you don't have to burn a whole other CD just to install the O/S.
