Webcam Drivers
Yesterday I recently purchased a Creative Live! Video IM Pro (Model number VF0410A).
The only problem is, is that I can't install the drivers from the disk.
The installer is a .EXE and I used WINE to run it, but when I go to install the driver I get an error message reading: Error occurred while installing driver.
I hit ok, and it continued the process only to give me another error message a few minutes later.
I've looked online, and I can't find the driver for download on there.
Would there be a way to just install the drivers from the disk using terminal?
Or am I stuck to only using the cam in Windows?
Help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you all.

Linux might already contain a driver for it. Check this HowTo for steps on enabling it under Linux:

I went to the website, and read over it, but I have no idea what that means, or what to look for.
I'm really lost with all of that.
Would there be an easier way to check if the driver is there?

try installing skype and see if it is auto detected. My logitech one was auto detected and works great. You can also download camorama and see if it is detected there (if it is, no need to install drivers)

I think that camera is supported already. Try using Skype, Kopete or gstreamer-properties to test it. For what it's worth though, if you got a driver installed in Wine then it would only be available to Wine applications.

Alright, well I installed Skype and it recognizes that I have the Live! Cam hooked up. It's already set as the camera.
The thing is, whenever I went to test the image, it had only shown up as a black screen.
The cam works fine in Windows, so I know it's nothing wrong with the camera itself.
I'm stumped as of now.
Any other ideas?
Thanks for everything so far.
