trouble with partition
I used to store all my mp3 and videos in the d: drive and the .exe form of backup files in e: drive and the programs and games i downloaded from the internet in the f: drive........My question is in where i store these files in linux.
how can i partition the linux file system for these specific purpose on my 80 gb hard disk........i mean how can i store them even if i had to format the linux and reinstall it

Create a separate /home partition and another partition for Data Storage too.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

WHAT will be the mount point for the other partition?

It can be anything you like. I'd call it /data or /mp3s
