You should read these two books.
Linux Kernel in a Nutshell

Better to have them in printing, so buy them
It goes without saying that kernel programming is the most challenging task in the development sector. I burnt my fingers on it every single time I tried.

Maybe you'd like to explain what it is you want to achieve. 'cuz big words like 'kernel programming' are easier said than understood

Ah, that narrows it down a bit. Actually, I believe there is a book on that... *checks* jup here it is
