I have this canon pixma mp 140 printer/scanner that came free with my computer. I'm using ubuntu 8.4. I tried to print a text document from open office, ubuntu sees the printer and lists it, but nothing happens. there is a cd that came with the printer, but it is for windows. what is the first thing i should check ? thanks.

The Pixma MP 140 only works "partially" under Linux according to its page on the OpenPrinting.org website:
