I can't edit files in Linux.

I can no longer boot windows, due to a .dll file I renamed (shell32.dll to shell 32.dll.bak) and I got pendrive linux to undo the rename, so I can run windows again. But I cannot edit permissions to the .dll file, and I cannot rename it. I am already logged in as root, not guest.

    Please help me with this.

Maybe the Windows drive is only mounted as read-only.
    Write "mount" to find out.
