Deconnect eth0.
Only have ath0 connected.
Or only Wifi, or what you are using.
But you can only use one and only interface at a time.

To do this you need a working internet connection, through ehernet cable or usb modem.
Go to System->Administration->Hardware Drivers. Give your password.
Broadcom wifi should appear. Select it and it download and install the driver.

Is your wireless connection established?
(See status either in "Mepis Network Asssistant/Interfaces", or "KNemo" on your deskop, once you have that icon enabled).
Via "KDE Control Center"/"Internet&Network", "Network Monitor", you can get the "KNemo"-desktop-icon on your desktop-panel for each interface you are using (for example a monitor-icon for wired connection, or for wlan, ath0 or wifi, you can set a "wireless-icon"). That icon is from "KNemo".
In the Network Monitor you should enable "Use KNemo to monitor your interfaces".
Established, does not necessarily mean, that you are get Internet access.
You can get Internet access, though, if your wireless interface is the only interface enabled.
Once you have access to the Internet, you can "download and install drivers for broadcom 1395 dell wireless lan card..."
I hope this information helps you monitor your Network and interface(s).
Your problem might have come, because your interface is set as wired eth0 interface, as default interface.
By disabling that, and enabling only the wireless interface, you should be done.
But disable also all the other activated interfaces, should there be some activated.
Personally, I had to do the opposite, with my interface configurations/settings: And it worked: I got Internet access, that way.

If you're willing to use ndiswrapper, I find it to be much better as the connection speed is 54 mb/s instead of the 1 mb/s from the native drivers.
