    Taking screenshots quickly

    Hi guys,

I have to make a tutorial with lots of screenshots of terminals, but using the take screenshot app in Centos 4.2 is very slow, and I want to be able to make this tutorials quickly. Is there an application that can automatically enclose a terminal window and take a screenshot of it to paste it in any document.

    Any help greatly appreciated,

    Ed.

    Hi.

I use import from the Image Magick package.

You can drag to select a screen region, or click to select a window to capture. Output is to a file; I don't think X supports copy-pasting of any content beyond plain text across applications though.

    cheers, kai

I just use the PrtSc key. It can be configured to capture the screen under the mouse cursor, so capturing your terminal is only a few key presses away. And you can drag end drop supported image files to OOo for example.
