Feeling like an ass...
So I decided to install Ubuntu in a dual-boot setup just to check it out. All in all, my first impressions have been pretty good. I must admit that I'm feeling like a bit of an ass, though because I can't seem to get Adobe Flash Player to install...

I've downloaded it, extracted it, and tried running it and nothing happens. The same happens when I try to run it from the terminal... What am I doing wrong here? According to the instructions on the Adobe website, I should have gotten a message or something telling me to hit enter to continue, but I see no such thing. It's almost as if nothing at all happens when I run the file. I do see a very brief flash though almost as if something opened and immediately closed..
I would have used the SEARCH function, but it doesn't seem to work for me at the moment so I decided to cave and make a thread on something you've all probably answered a billion times over... <sigh>

Just curious, but didn't Ubuntu prompt you to install it automatically when you first visited a page with Flash?
