[HELP] Configure and Compile
Hello everyone,
I'm trying to get some files work with one server, mainly all people there don't know what to do, but seems this is a linux issue so I was thinking that you could help, I'm using SLAM64 Linux and I get these errors:
Leeching from SVN Goes Great...Checked out revision 4842.
Then...autoreconf --force --install errors:
After this configure goes still good... (Log Here: http://www.warfare.lt/~yuki/configure.txt ) And then I try to "make" it justs burst into millions of errors (can't fit the whole log because of the newbie issues, but the errors are the same.. : http://www.warfare.lt/~yuki/error.txt )Code:yuki@gameserver:~/ascent/trunk$ autoreconf --force --install /usr/share/aclocal/nspr.m4:8: warning: underquoted definition of AM_PATH_NSPR run info '(automake)Extending aclocal'nf --force --installautoreconf --force - or see http://sources.redhat.com/automake/a...ending-aclocal /usr/share/aclocal/imlib.m4:9: warning: underquoted definition of AM_PATH_IMLIB /usr/share/aclocal/imlib.m4:167: warning: underquoted definition of AM_PATH_GDK_IMLIB /usr/share/aclocal/gtk.m4:7: warning: underquoted definition of AM_PATH_GTK /usr/share/aclocal/audiofile.m4:12: warning: underquoted definition of AM_PATH_AUDIOFILE /usr/share/aclocal/aalib.m4:12: warning: underquoted definition of AM_PATH_AALIB /usr/share/aclocal/nspr.m4:8: warning: underquoted definition of AM_PATH_NSPR run info '(automake)Extending aclocal' or see http://sources.redhat.com/automake/a...ending-aclocal /usr/share/aclocal/imlib.m4:9: warning: underquoted definition of AM_PATH_IMLIB /usr/share/aclocal/imlib.m4:167: warning: underquoted definition of AM_PATH_GDK_IMLIB /usr/share/aclocal/gtk.m4:7: warning: underquoted definition of AM_PATH_GTK /usr/share/aclocal/audiofile.m4:12: warning: underquoted definition of AM_PATH_AUDIOFILE /usr/share/aclocal/aalib.m4:12: warning: underquoted definition of AM_PATH_AALIB configure.ac: installing `./install-sh' configure.ac: installing `./missing' extras/collision/collision_dll/Makefile.am: installing `./depcomp' yuki@gameserver:~/ascent/trunk$

That's a whole lot of incompatible library errors. Not millions though. But you are running a 64bit build of Slackware. That's hardly newbie stuff
The way I read it, you are installing some sort of Linux home WoW server?? Are you sure that it's 64bit compatible? Please provide more detailed info on what you are trying to do, and where you got it from.
For example:
I have no idea what this means. I mean, I know what SVN is, but do you mean you had a working build that is now broken or is this a fresh build that spits out errors? Also, could you give a link?

Thank you for your replies, Yes I'm trying to run a WOW server, We have a fine L2J for over a half a year now, it runs great.. But with WOW it's just insane.. We're trying to get this working (Ascent Emulator) ( http://mmoforge.org/svn/ascent/ ), I wrote the guy who did the guide in the forums for this release, but he said it's the Coders error and I should try one of the earlier Revision, I tried about 4000-4500~ And the newest is 48** Still doesn't work - same error, and the others emulators like Mango only support win 32, so I guess I'm screwed.. cause this was supposed to work ( [Ascent][Linux]Tutorial - How To Create a Server - MMORPG server development forums - RaGEZONE (Sponsor: tfn.gr) )

The tutorial you linked to mentioned Debian as a base system, but it didn't mention how many bits so I'm assuming the default 32bit version.
One thing you could do is try the same procedure on a 32 bit system. Maybe run a temporary VM of Slackware or something? That is cleaner than tweaking your live system until it does run all the 32bit apps you depend on O_o
Downside of course is that you will not be bored this cloudy sunday. Although VirtualBox isn't too hard to set up and Slackware comes with most if not all of the dependencies you'll need (rough estimate, YMMV).
That way you might be able to see where the procedure you are following takes a wrong turn on your current system. But it is work, so if somebody has a better idea??

I want 64bit libs -___-, anyways umm.. the username is anonymous and the password blank is empty
I will just keep around this forum for now, for your support and try other versions.

Well, I believe there are some tweaks you can do on a 64bit system to make it more compatible with 32bit apps. But I'm not familiar with them, only from reading about 64bit distro's that I found several writings on the subject.
I have to go though, good luck! Can't tell an OS by it's GUI

Eureka?!?
No I don't know if it's the same thing even. But I thought it might be worth a shot. Because I was wrong; Ascent should be able to run on a 64bit system.
