    NVIDIA Drivers with Installations?

    Hi...

I am looking to install an older linux system for my Pavilion 511w computer and wondering if there are any installations that come with NVIDIA drivers? The one I use right now is the Intel 82810E.

I am looking into DSL, Vector, Perhaps even Puppy, Xubuntu, and maybe even some of the older Ubuntu's. Or I might even wing it at the last Mandrake, since I began using linux on Mandrake 6.0...I did install the old 6.0, but since it doesn't have the correct drivers, I can only get the prompt.

Oh, and if it doesn't, but they can be downloaded, then I would at least need a USB driver so that I could use our other computer to download the drivers...

    Thanks...

We need to know the exact video card you own.

However, if it's nvidia, I can say in advance that:

1.- no linux distro ships them by default, since they are under a propietary license which prevents the redistribution of the driver.
2.- you can install them on any distro, so, that shouldn't be a factor to choose a distro
3.- there's always the posibility to use the nv or vesa drivers, they have no 3d acceleration, but they should work out of the box

    Thanks...

I've got Vector Linux 5.9 running. So far it's ok...And yep, no 3D acceleration...
