    ClamTK and "root"

I was trying to update ClamTK, but, it says I must be "root". Does this mean log in as root? If so, how is this done? Doesn't the program already get updates from update manager? It seems like I read something about logging in as root was a security risk. Please fill me in.

    sudo clamtk
from where you are. If you use a distro where you log in to root - you need to log in to root...

I use Ubuntu. So, the update manager won't update it for me? How do I log in as root? Is doing so secure?

Do you mean I type "update clamtk" in the terminal?

    I'm completely new to Linux.

Is clamtk installed via Synaptic Package Manager? (Or did you use apt-get install clamtk?).
