Sync out of range
I wanted to learn linux. I got a bootable CD which my friend gave to learn the basics of CD and then go in for a full fledged installation.
When I boot from CD, my monitor gives a message as "Sync Out of range"
What is this due to. How do I get this resolved?
I use intel D101GGC mother board with intel processor 2.67GHz. with 250mb har disk 1GB ram. My monitor is samtron 56v.
May I request the moderator to help me out so that I can have the experience of Linux which is claimed to be very robust.

Welcome to the forums!
I'm not sure what distribution you are trying to boot, but you are probably going to have to use some of the kernel boot options that are usually available to you right before the CD tries to boot into the working system.
You'll need to check your monitor manual specifications and then set the horizontal and vertical refresh rates accordingly using the kernel boot options at the boot prompt.oz
