    Need help with Ubuntu

    Hello,

    I have installed and ran Ubuntu 8.4 today and am still trying to figure things out, I have another topic but I am going to post here in this forum, so could a moderator please remove the other topic I have?

    1. How do i download that box thing that everyone shows, and makes their linux look nice. I think it is called beryl?

    2. Also I tried to install limewire and it says only one system application can run at a time or something then it said e.g update manager. I closed update manager and it still doesnt work, any help on this?

    3. Also I get this error when trying to run synaptic or update manager

    E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem.
    E: _cache->open() failed, please report.

    4. Also, i get an error trying to download adobe flash player, could someone give me a tutorial to download and run it?

    Any help will be appreciated!

    Which Graphics Card do you have?

    Its not possible to launch more than one instance of Package Manager. Are you sure that you have closed all instances?
    Execute this
    Code:
    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get install limewire
    3. Also I get this error when trying to run synaptic or update manager

    E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem.
    E: _cache->open() failed, please report.
    Check this thread of yours.
    post exact error here.
    4. Also, i get an error trying to download adobe flash player, could someone give me a tutorial to download and run it?
    Code:
    sudo apt-get install nonfree-flashplugin
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

    You have to install Nvidia Driver but nothing will work unless you solve Package Manager problem.

    Execute those commands in Terminal. Look for it in Menu.
    Or press Alt+F2 and type this
    Code:
    gnome-terminal

    Look for Synaptic Package Manager in Menu. Its a Graphical Interface of apt-get. Search package(s), mark for installation and click Apply button.
