What distro to try now? :)
Hi all!
I want to try a new linux distro but i cannot decide what to go with and yes i have done the "what distro should i use quiz".
I am currently running Linux Mint (its based on ubuntu isnt it?) and i have tried OpenSuse and Backtrack3.
What i use my laptop for /what i want:
Play wow (with wine)
Penetration testing with aircrack and such tools ( 4 fun)
I think that I know unix/linux wuite well but i still like GUI's like point and click, but the terminal has a geeky feel over it and i like it ^^
Shiny themes (compiz is awesome, not necessary but awesome)
What hardware i have:
IFL90 Laptop
Nvidia Geforce 8600M GT
Intel 2.2GHz dual core (no i dont remember exactly what model
)
3gb ram
4965 something intel wireless and a RT73 chipset wireless adapter for lulz.
Any suggestions on what distro i cna try
? I really have no idea and i like to hear your opinion and please write why i should try it not just like lolomfgwtfbbwgentooownsffs.
Thanks in advance^^

Yes, Linux Mint is based on Ubuntu.
Careful discussing topics like that. There's a fine line between learning about security and system vulnerabilities and illegal activities (which are not discussed here).Penetration testing with aircrack and such tools ( 4 fun)
None of that hardware should give you trouble, regardless of the distribution you use. The key points are your Intel wireless and Nvidia video, which are both very well supported in Linux. What hardware i have:

If you'd like a list of some of the more popular distributions, there's a Top 100 on DistroWatch. As for anything specific, we can't really help you much there. Distributions are more of a matter of personal taste than features.Registered Linux user #270181

Oops oke srry.
Well thanks for the answer, good to know that my hardware is supported by the most distros. I was more into getting specific tips but I guess I'll have to read Distrowatch again hehe.
I had a look at ReactOS and it looks really interesting although its in development.
Edit *------
going to try ReactOS tonigh, although it doesnt seem stable at all i will download
gOS too and try that aswell
Someday i will find my type of distro :S
