    which desktop environment are you using, KDE, GNOME, XFCE, another one??

    Moving to a more appropriate forum.

    Somewhere in your menu should be a tool for organizing your menu. I suggest you check there. I believe for KDE it's in the KDE Control Center.

    Thanks for your reply meton_magis I'm a novice so to answer your question about the environment desktop that I'm using I honestly don't know. Can you tell me how I can find out this information. If I had to guess I think that it might be GNOME.

    what distrobution are you using. I think we can assume you are using the default manager of that distro

    The distribution that I'm useing is Fedora 8.

    At the top left of your screen, is there a list of menus -- Applications, Places, System ?

    If so, click System. If you see "About Gnome", then you're using Gnome
