    Question Newbie need help to open ".exe file"....

    Hi, i'm a newbie recently i purchased an ASUS Eee PC which run on Linux OS...

    I downloaded a program .exe file, but i can't open it. When i using Window XP, thing is easy just unzip and open....

    Any other software do i need, inorder to open those files?

    .exe is a Windows file, not a Linux file.

    The program may or may not run if you install Wine.

    Welcome to Linux Forums.
    Normally, .exe files are for Windows/Dos only, but if it's just a compressed file you can use Wine to unzip them. You might have to install Wine to use it. Good Luck.

    You can also tell the name of this program. Maybe there exists a similar or equal native replacement package for it.
    Debian GNU/Linux -- You know you want it.
