What's the use of Sun Java?

    Hi LF experts, good day.

Everytime I visit messenger.chikka.com and click the Launch chikka blah blah, it will require Sun Java. I already installed the Sun Java.

    Question:
    1. What's the use of Sun Java in the internet?

As what I have understood, some websites uses Java language that's why we need Sun Java. Am I right? Just correct me if I'm wrong.

    Thanks and God bless.

Yes, a great many websites use Java programs either in the pages themselves (JAR files) or on the back-end for server tasks. I develop Java applications for local government, and almost all of our system have a web-based Java frontend.
