    Welcome to the forums!

    Check out TestDisk and PhotoRec for the possible recovery of any partitions/files. You can find both applications here:

    TestDisk - CGSecurity

    The easiest way to obtain them (in my opinion) is to use the PartedMagic LiveCD.

    thanx but i'm getting a bit of problems with installing .tar.bz2 "files"
    can anyone help the tutorial's info did'nt really help in my case

    I guess I'm confused, because you don't need to install any .tar.bz2 files to use the liveCD suggested above. Just download the zipped ISO file, unzip it, burn the ISO file to a blank CD (as an image), and then boot your machine with it.
